Summary
This project built on a previous experiment when a group of Year 7 students had been given Chromebooks. While 75% of the students claimed to find them helpful, they were used in only one main way: for student research. Three teachers, with zero to two years’ experience of Chromebook-use participated in this new project, working with students across all key stages. At first the inexperienced teacher only used the Chromebooks for research, but with more training, she and the others made more innovative use of them, changing their practice to more high impact strategies: flipped classrooms; collaborative work; and real-time feedback. In response ‘89% of students felt that using Chromebooks in lessons enhanced their learning.
