An investigation into the power of questioning

Summary

Sara studied the literature to see how practitioners perceived questioning and how practitioners ensured student engagement during questioning. Sara then conducted a number of observations within her school and found that in practice, most teachers relied on hands-up questioning, with very little wait time. She concludes her presentation by outlining specific best practices for using questioning in classrooms, and how such practices can be enhanced through whole-school action.
