Continuing Professional Development (CPD)

Membership of the Deanery offers opportunities for teachers at any career stage for continuing professional development. There are three continuing professional development opportunities.

NQT Induction programme: A series of workshops helping NQTs to keep drawing on research in response to the immediate practical issues they face. This is offered through the Oxfordshire Teaching Schools Alliance (OTSA). Find out more here.

Action Research Fellowship: A programme providing mentoring and support for teachers engaged in small-scale research projects. Find out more here.

Enhanced Masters in Learning and Teaching: A higher degree professional qualification including a structured programme of mentoring and collaboration between local Deanery school participants (currently offered through OCL). Find out more here.

Subject Specific Networks: The Oxford Education Deanery is helping to promote and facilitate new and existing Subject Teaching Networks. These Networks are communities that allow people to learn from each other through network meetings and online forums.. Find out more here.

Enhanced Masters in Learning and Teaching

sbaySimon completed his PGCE at the Department of Education, University of Oxford in 2014 and went on to teach at Oxford Spires Academy. Simon recently won Pearson’s Teacher of the Year. He is currently undertaking an Enhanced Masters Course and the focus of his research and development project is “The impact of effort-graded feedback on motivation (especially with Pupil Premium students).”
